Ms. Judith Rice (Fourzan)
Dual Credit English, Creative Writing
M.F.A., University of Texas at El Paso - Creative Writing
B.A., University of Texas at El Paso, English.
 

A native El Pasoan, Judith A. Fourzan has earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, as well as a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing from UTEP.  She teaches English Composition, Research and Writing, and Introduction to American Fiction regularly.  She has also taught Introduction to Creative Writing, the University Seminar Course, numerous English as a Second Language Courses, and Organizational Communication – Managing Effective Communication in Businesses.  

As her administrative duty, Professor Fourzan creates the classes and times for the composition schedule each semester and staffs it.  This schedule consists of approximately 100 freshman composition courses and 40 instructors, including tenure track, full time lecturers, part time lecturers, Assistant Instructors and Teaching Assistants. 

Professor Fourzan also writes non-fiction articles for various organizations in the El Paso area, as well as fiction and poetry.  Along with her fiancé, modern impressionist painter Tom Darrah, she is writing and illustrating children’s stories. 

She has been at the University since 1991.
